Jerremiah began playing guitar at age 15, going on to study guitar in college under the direction of Warren Haskell, and later Tobin Roye at California State University, Chico. Although his studies focused mainly on classical guitar, he also studied jazz and composition, as well as music theory. Jerremiah received his BA in Music in 2004, and his MA in Music in 2006.
Jerremiah Smith has performed as a soloist in the United States and Bermuda, and boasts an eclectic mix of original compositions and charming arrangements. His original composition, Joy, received first prize in MakeAStar.com’s solo guitar competition. As an accompanist, Jerremiah joined jazz vocalist Cassandra Madison during a live performance on Northstate Public Radio, and has performed for musical theater productions ranging from Anything Goes to Rocky Horror. Jerremiah has also enjoyed performing as a member of several rock bands, and has published several original compositions for solo guitar.
Jerremiah has been teaching guitar since 2003, and has been a full time faculty member at the Bermuda School of Music since 2011.
